April pics of the month: Spring tulips and a cafetiere

Written by Diane on. Posted in photos, pics of the month

fresh-spring-flowers-france After a long and rainy winter, spring has finally sprung in my neck of the woods. And nothing says spring like flowers, so I had to pick some up at the marché last weekend.

Go!

I would rarely buy fresh flowers back in the U.S. because it seemed kind of wasteful since they would just die anyway. They’re pretty to look at but don’t last long and were reserved for special occasions. But then I moved to France where flowers took the spotlight at the local markets and were readily available at all price points and in all colors. Tulips are everywhere now and I couldn’t resist picking up a bouquet at the market for 5 euros on Saturday. Worth it, right? These spring tulips really do bring life to my kitchen.

They also look lovely in a French vintage cafetiere vase (which is currently for sale on Etsy)

Do you buy fresh flowers often or treat yourself from time to time?

Have a wonderful day wherever you are and happy spring!
