Happy New Year from Bretagne

Brittany France boats For my birthday week, we’re renting a house in Bretagne (Brittany). It’s one of my favorite regions in France and although I’ve been here a few times before, it never gets old — there’s still a lot to explore! We’re out by Quimper this time, and aside from the rain on New Year’s Eve, we’re having a nice, relaxing trip.

See if you fall in love with Bretagne too! GO see my pics!

With 2013 upon us, I figured pictures of the ocean were fitting. Water washes away the old and reveals something new. It’s refreshing, calming and awe-inspiring.

Ever since I was a kid, I’ve always loved the ocean. I’m not a big beach goer, but something about the ocean draws me in. Even seeing rough surf during the winter makes me feel at ease. I love it all — where I grew up going to the boardwalks and rides of New Jersey’s beach towns, and places I’ve visted such as the rocky cliffs of Ireland’s coast and the tropical waters in the Caribbean.

Bretagne has a gorgeous coastline — over 1,600 miles of it and the most in France!

Two panoramic shots showing off this beautiful region’s rocky coast:

Happy New Year! Where are you kicking off 2013?

I love your pictures. We were in Normandy in the fall and were told we need to go to Brittany. I think you just sealed the deal for me!
